Known Issues
#008: semi finished station preset sorting (CMD+R) on Steam Radio for Mac
with the last update from 13.03.2013, a new feature slipped through which was not fully implemented yet. This concerns the station organization window, which now contains 16 preset squares. Please do not use them yet, they will become fully functional in the next update.
#007: Crash after importing own radio stream
Likely only affects iOS6.1 and higher. Apple changed some internal memory management implementation. Next update V3.10 will fix this.
#006: Crashes on Mac while importing own stream
One user reported that the App crashes when importing own streams into the Mac OS X version of the App. I was not able to reproduce the problem. Please let me know if that happens on your computer.
#005: Steam Radio on Mac does not start but only shows gray rectangle instead
This can be fixed as a workaround by installing the font “Chalkduster”. Fixed.
#004: insertion of own radio stream works but does not show up in list
This can be due to including an apostrophe in the name or description field of the station details. Remove the apostrophe and try again. Will be fixed in Version 3.0 update.
#003: User-added streams are lost after update
One iTunes App review was stating that his self-added streams were lost after update. I had tried to reproduce this, but were not able to. User added streams were still there after update of the app to the newer version.
The only case, where this might have happened could be the update from Version 1.x to Version 2.x, where I had made bigger changes to the underlying station database. Update from and to a Version >2.0 should in fact keep the user added stations on update. If you happen to lose your self-added streams on a future app update, please drop me an e-mail or leave a comment here.

#002: App freezes, sometime continuing to play audio, after switching to another station, while the previous one had not yet started playing
Reason: Multitasking engine of the iPhone was locking the first radio stream, whilst my app was cleaning it up for the next stream. Then the app was trying to start the next stream, which worked programatically, but as the iPhone was still blocking the audio engine, while waiting for data of the first stream, this lead to a deadlock, which was not identified by the iOS, and thus the first audio stream might still start playing, but the app continues to freeze.
Recovering: On some phones, it was enough to close the app from the multitasking bar, whereas on other devices it was required to switch on/off the device
Workaround: wait until the first selected radio stream either starts playing, or produces and error, before switching to the next.
Solution: Should be fixed in Version 2.3 update released on 15.02.2011.

#001: App crashes when trying to add own m3u URL radio stream, or does not play stream although URL is correct
Workaround: currently this only happens on iPad, no on iPhone/iPod devices. Unfortunately there is no current workaround for the issue.
Solution: Was fixed in V2.1 update January 2011 for iPhone/iPod devices, but not for iPad. Will be fixed in update mid February.
Update: Should be fixed in V2.2, release Feb 09 2011

Hi,
Just hoping you could tell me how to edit this m3u file ” http://media.on.net/radio/114.m3u ” to so that steam radio doesnt crash. Just bought the app today, so far so good apart from the crashing via some m3u files.
Cheers
Anj Duvnjak
Anj, as corrected above it seems I got this fixed for iPhone/iPod, but not for iPad devices. I have fixed this and submitted an update to Apple today.
Beautifull app but -
New Version from 9 February still freezes some times.
My System Version is 4.2.1.
I only have selected some stations from the list.
Have Not done any other spezial settings.
Hallo Herr Zimmer, könnten sie mir den Fehler noch genauer beschreiben? Ich habe per E-mail mit ihnen Kontakt aufgenommen.
@Hans Zimmer: I have found the error, which I described in report #002 above. This behavior will be fixed in a soon release.
Bought the app on the Mac store, and I think it’s neat — but there are a couple things I’m noticing:
(1) I can’t consistently paste into the text boxes in the Import Stream panel (Cmd-I). I can’t reproduce this one all the time — twice it didn’t work, once it did. I know that’s not very helpful.
(2) It doesn’t look like there’s a way to delete an image in the Import Stream panel. You might consider adding a ‘clear’ button, or just having all the field be blank when the user brings the panel up rather than having whatever their last values were.
(3) I don’t seem to be able to delete channels on the dial that came with the app. I can delete ones that I’ve added with the Organize Station Dial panel by dragging them back out, but the ones that were part of the initial 16 presets I can’t delete. I really don’t want any of these.
(4) Is there a way to delete or edit station information? I added a local jazz station here, but the icon I have for it is really ugly… and it doesn’t look like there’s any way for me to change that. It doesn’t look like there’s a way for me to even delete the station and start over.
Hey Watts,
for (1): I have seen that when you paste a link which has a subsequent “line-feed” (Enter) then the content will be seen as empty, however when you scroll up with the cursor it becomes visible again
for (2): I have just fixed that. It will have a clear button as well as it will be cleared on reopening the import window in the next update of the app
for (3): I will think about a good solution for this. Not sure if for the next, but for an update in the near future
for (4): Just finished implementing a delete button. Editing is something I might add in the near future as well.
Thanks for the detailed feedback!
